Activate your Net ID

Pre-Arrival Task:

Activate your Syracuse University Net I.D. and @SYR.edu Email Account!

By activating your Net I.D., you will have access to Syracuse University’s online student resources. It is one of the first steps incoming students need to complete after being admitted to the English Language Institute.

Before you arrive in Syracuse, you should complete the following steps:

1. Go to the Self-Service NetID Management Portal: netid.syr.edu.
2. On the self-service portal, click on “Activate Your NetID” on the left-hand side of the screen.
3. When prompted, enter your nine-digit Syracuse University I.D. number (SUID), Date of Birth (MM/DD/YYYY), and Last Name.
4. Acknowledge Policies: Read the NetID information and policies, then check the box to confirm you understand and agree to them.
5. Create Password and Recovery Method: Follow the directions to set up your NetID password and establish a password recovery method.
6. Complete Activation: Once these steps are complete, your NetID will be active within 48 hours.
