English for Sports Professionals is a ten-week course designed specifically for graduate students entering the Sport Venue and Event Management program with a high level of English proficiency. This course is unique from the semester long academic English courses required for conditionally admitted students. The English for Sport Professionals program focuses on developing the advanced communication skills necessary to succeed in the sports industry. Additionally, students will develop the critical reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills necessary for success at the graduate level, specifically in the context of Sport Venue and Event Management.
Students must arrive in Syracuse by May 28 for Orientation and Placement Testing on May 29. During the first four weeks of the course, students will be in intensive English classes for 25 hours per week. During the final six weeks of the course, students will take graduate courses in the Sport Venue and Event Management program during the morning, and English classes during the afternoon. The last day of classes is August 7.
